There are different tribes of Nigeria and naked tribes throughout Africa. The Fulani, the Hausa, the Igbo, the Yoruba, and the Kanuri are a few of the tribes. Every tribe has its own traditions and customs, and every language belongs to a certain group of people.

Over 250 tribal communities may be found in Nigeria, many of which are still mostly unexplored and uncontacted. The Igbo, Yoruba, Benin, and Hausa tribes make up Nigeria’s largest and most powerful ethnic groups. The traditions, languages, and religions of each tribe are unique.

The Hausa Speaking Tribes of Nigeria

There are numerous tribes found in Nigeria and Africa. One of the most well-known tribes is the Hausa. The Hausa are a large tribe found in Northern Nigeria and Southern Chad. They are pastoral people and are famous for their cattle herding. The Hausa are also known for their music and poetry.

The Igbo-Speaking Tribes of Nigeria

In Nigeria and all of Africa, there are over a thousand different tribes. Every tribe has its unique traditions, convictions, and way of life.

With more than 40% of the population, the Igbo are the biggest ethnic group in Nigeria. They live in a large territory that encompasses much of the south-eastern and north-central regions of the nation. There are various clans among the Igbo people, each of which is centred on a specific ancestor or family. Each clan is led by a chieftain who is in charge of upholding the clan’s traditional way of life and customs.

The Igbo live in the southeast of the country, in the states of Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, Abia and Rivers. The Igbo are Mande people, and their language is Igbo.

The Yoruba Speaking Tribes of Nigeria

One of the biggest ethnic groups in Nigeria is the Yoruba tribes. The southwestern region of Nigeria is said to be the origin of the Yoruba people. The Yoruba ethnic group dominates the states of Yorubaland and Oyo. Additionally, Yorubas make up a sizable minority in the states of Delta, Kano, and Plateau.

The Yoruba are a linguistic and cultural group. They are said to have their roots in what is now southwest Nigeria. The Yoruba ethnic group dominates the states of Yorubaland and Oyo. There is a sizable minority of Yoruba people in the southern part of Nigeria.

The Naked Tribe in Nigeria

In Nigeria, a few indigenous groups have managed to stave off influence from the West.

These rural villages have maintained their tradition and continued to engage in nudity while living in the twenty-first century. Meet Nigeria’s bare-chested tribes:

KOMA These hill-dwellers reside in the Alantika Mountains, which form the boundary between northern Cameroon and the southeast of Yola, the capital of Nigeria’s Adamawa State.

According to a July 2010 article published in the Nigerian publication The Spectator, they were discovered in 1986 by a corps member in what was then the Gongola State in Northern Nigeria. They presently have 17 villages on the Nigerian side after receiving formal recognition as Nigerians in 1961.

Years later, the Koma people have found a means to survive outside of modern civilization. They live in secrecy in the hills, moving about freely while covered in leaves and loincloths.
They use flint to make fires for cooking.

The Naked Tribes Found in Koma

The majority of Koma hill residents rely on farming, hunting, and foraging for forest items including bananas, locust beans, and canarium, which are used as body lubricants.
The Fulani, Bata, Chamba, and other tribes in the lowlands are sources for them to purchase farming equipment and rare apparel items used by males on ceremonial occasions.

Puberty rituals are performed by both sexes around the ages of 14 and 17, respectively ( circumcision for boys and extraction of two of the incisors for girls). After that, they are allowed to socialise before announcing their desire to be married to their parents through token exchanges; a farm or garden plot works. If allowed, the male pays the bride price with goats, chicks, and a small sum of money, often two Naira.
